A few things about me: my name is Brittany, I grew up in real Virginia but now live in Northern Virginia (though technically not two different states, they might as well be), I’ve dressed up as Erica Church (the female version of Eric Church) for the past three Halloweens, and I was a member of the official Shania Twain fan club as a child (membership perks included receiving regular newsletters featuring news on all things Shania and a business card letting people know that my membership was legit!) My dream job is to be a country singer but I can’t carry a tune in a bucket so instead I make my living working as a program coordinator at a university in the Washington, D.C. area.
About the Blog
While I may be writing about “country from the capital” in this blog, a good deal of the music that I write about falls under the category of Americana and alt-country. When I first started this blog in the summer of 2017, my goal was to write about country music but the more I learned about music, and the more I discovered new artists, I realized that Americana music was more my style. Since that realization, a lot of my writing has focused on Americana music in general and Americana artists in particular. While I may still talk about mainstream country from time to time, the blog is definitely not a place where you will find information on the chart-toppers and number one radio singles.
